There's a new "tag" running RAMPANT around YouTube. Topless/naked Vlogging. (Video blogging, for those technical-term challenged.) Thank GOD, I don't have enough "friends" on YouTube to worry about being "tagged". The one friend I DO have, won't do it herself...lol...so, I think I'm in the safe!!

Back from Vegas, baby!!

We JUST got back from Vegas tonight...and what an ENJOYABLE weekend we had!!


We stayed at the Wynn Hotel (above)...on the 59th floor (out of 60 floors), with a panoramic view of the strip. I will blog more about our trip (and my new-found favorite slot machine), along with adding my own PERSONAL pics. We saw the show: Le Reve...which I thought was PHENOMINAL!! We had VIP seats, and they were GREAT!! If you get to Vegas, and wanna see a great acrobatic show, Le Reve is the one!





I will warn you: you need to have a vivid imagination (the show, afterall, means "The Dream" in french...), and if you don't have that, you need to appreciate SEVERE acrobatics at EXTREME heights.


Anyways....stories and pics later. For now, I need my bed. You would think that for $400 a night, I would get some AWESOME sleep. But, no. NONE of the nights I was there, did I get a good nights rest.

So, I shall chat later...once I have fully recuperated.

Forget the stupid Disney pins...I'm movin' on to bigger better (and, yes...more EXPENSIVE) things!!

OH MY!!

She sent me a blog from a Disneyland art creator by the name of Kevin Kidney (who also works hand-in-hand with Jody Daily). I've seen SOME of their work (whilst looking for PINS...), but NONE of their SPECTACULAR creations!!

That image above is their "Tangaroa Tree" from the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland. They have a penchant for the tiki room right now, because June 22, 2008 will be the attractions 45th anniversary. LOTS of goodies to buy AT the park that day. NOTHING for online purchase.

Guess I will have to be there that day.

Along with missing out on the Tangaroa Tree lamp, I also missed out on this little 7 inch beauty:





Both were released in 2005 for the 50th anniversary. Piss. Well, good thing I am an eBay wizard. I already found one of the tiki drummers that was also produced. (Actually, there are currently TWO listed on eBay.)


All this would look SPECTACULAR in my game room!! Right behind the bar. I have already decided that all of my Disneyland framed artwork is going somewhere between the pinball machine(s) and the arcade machine(s). Once we finish the outside of the house...that's the next I get to do!! YIPPEE!! That's the deal that Dean made me once I decided to close my business and donate all of the gowns.

For better or for worse....right?


Speaking of artwork....

...Briana has finished her charcoal sketch that I previously showed you while it was "in progress". Actually, she says she doesn't know if it's actually "finished" or not. ***laughing*** A true artist. Here's a pic of it:





(For those of you who hadn't read what the sketch was OF...the students were to sketch a picture of a sheet that the professor had draped on the classroom wall, using as much depth and sharp edges that they could. She did MOST of the work for memory, while here at home...)

I guess her art professor took her by the hand yesterday, and said he wanted to show her something. Walked her down the hallway of the college, and there was her sketch, behind glass, in the hallway for everyone to appreciate!! He told her that there are quite a few people that are pretty angry with her. When she asked, "Why?"...he responded that his Advanced Art students are upset that a "BEGINNING ART" student can do that caliber of work...and they can't. He offered to set up a table under her sketch, so that she could sign autographs.

She amazes me.

Well, I'm in the middle of a no-score game between the Dodgers (YEA!!) and the Giants (YOU SUCK!!). We kicked the Giants BUTTS last night...was hoping that they would have 161 more games like that one!!

Dean's 50th will be coming up soon.....maybe I should do another surprise party at Dodger Stadium for him...

So, I'm looking for some good April Fool's Day stories. I only got dinged ONCE today...and it was by YouTube. By one of my favorite subscriptions: ArtieTSMITW . I got "rickrolled" by him.






In case you weren't logged on to YouTube today, or possibly you live under a rock and never GO to YouTube...either way, they had a FABULOUS prank for all of their viewers today. No matter WHICH "Featured Video" you clicked on to view, you were taken to the same link of Rick Astley's 1987 hit: "Never Gonna Give You Up". Sad, SAD excuse for a video. So, that was it for me. I was rickrolled.



I stayed inside today. Maybe you didn't. I'd like to hear YOUR April Fool stories!

One too many time outs...

So, my 3-year old Puggles group last week was quite the challenge. I've decided that the NyQuil and Benadryl probably won't work out...so, I was thinking about using alternate methods. Duct tape has SO many uses!!


Had an AWESOME weekend!

Birthday party for a friend on Friday night. Had teppan-yaki, sushi, and MUCH nigori sake!! Then, after 8 of us were nice and pickled, we decided to go drink beer and play pool. I gotta say...I think we set a record. With 8 people, I think it took almost 45 minutes to clear the table. So, I decided another pitcher of Hefeweisen and a game of 9-Ball was in order. Got it all set up, fetched the beer, and off we went for round two.

Unfortunately, the girls vs. boys thing didn't work out so well for the girls..

Oh well.


Tonight, twelve of us had a nice family style Italian dinner. I was asked to order wine for the table. Ended up with a WONDERFUL selection of two whites and two reds. A pinot noir (Cappolla "Director's Cut"....HIGHLY recommend!!), Wild Horse Merlot, a pinot grigio that I new my friend would love (and she did), and a FABULOUS Italian imported Bianco that was superb!! Ate THE BEST chicken marsala in town!! I am SO glad that this place is just right around the corner from our house!! Sunday dinner is just $20 a head....minus all the wine, of course!!


Anyways...had a lovely weekend. Still looking forward to Vegas!!

Say NO to crack!

I mentioned to you that I just recently got back from Disneyland....yes?


The picture above....well....it is MILD compared to the show we got while passing a thirty-something lady squatting in Fantasyland. I REALLY wish I would have had my camera. In fact, I could have submitted it to the website where I found THIS picture!


Ya know...seeing the top of a thong without crack is bad enough. Seeing floss and crack is HORRIBLE. But, (no pun intended) seeing so much of a woman's butt crack that you KNOW she is going "commando", is nothing short of repulsive. I know some men may disagree with me...but, as a woman, it's just flat out gross. C'mon gals. Let's show a LITTLE class.....ok?


That being said, I belong to a discussion group of "Re-Imagineers", regarding Disneyland. Several past Imagineers are on the discussion board. There's QUITE a hot topic going on right now, in regards to It's A Small World. If you didn't know already, it's been shut down since January 22, 2008. It is scheduled to reopen November 29th, 2008. One of the longest "renovations" (aside from turning the People Mover into Rocket Rods) in the parks history.

Apparently, Disney's guests overall "girth" has grown since the ride was originally designed in the 60's. (Although, Disney disputes that is an issue. God forbid they stop selling those churros...) Anyhow, they are redesigning the boats to make them larger and "more buoyant", and making the waterways (flumes) wider and deeper to accommodate the new boats. Ok...I can see the need for this. However, that is not the controversial part.

Mary Blair, the original designer of IASM (It's A Small World), was nothing short of brilliant. This ride was put together for the 1964/65 World's Fair. It opened in the park on May 28, 1966. It was Walt Disney's desire to represent a "community" feel for uniting the world. I believe Unicef was a major backer of the ride itself.

Well....the current Imagineers are at it again. Butchering yet another "historical" ride. No matter HOW you feel about the ever annoying song that plays during the 10-14 minute ride (depending on how fast the boats and their loads are moving...)...I think we ALL have a sentimental feel for the ride. It seems as though the new plans are to scrap the rain forest scene (you know...where the plastic strips look like "rain", and the sparkly green crocodile with the umbrella stands...remember??). They want to take that whole room apart, and make a room called "Up with America". Something more patriotic. Barf. Not that I am against patriotism...don't get me wrong. We should have kept "America Sings", instead of that STUPID Innoventions crap they have there now. I simple can't WAIT for them to turn that into something else besides the waste of space that it truly is.

Along with the "Up with America" room, they are planning on bastardizing the remainder of the ride, by strategically placing Disney characters along the ride. You'll find Ariel in the mermaid/underwater area....Lilo & Stitch in the Hawaiian scene...Lion King characters in Africa....Mulan in China...is this repulsing you as much as it is me? I will be on that ride when it opens back up in November/December. But, I am bringing a barf bag...just in case.

This whole thing just brings me back to when they redid Pirates of the Caribbean. The first time they changed it, was due to women's lib'ers who said that it exploited women. DUH! You think the pirates DIDN'T pillage and plunder? At least they didn't show the truth in how they raped they women!! C'mon!! So, they changed a few scenes....and added a bunch of FOOD to the village scenes. Pretty outrageously ridiculous, if you ask me. I sincerely doubt that they had an over-abundance of food...let alone, were overly obsessed with food more than the women. Then, to add insult to injury, they decide to redo the ride AGAIN, in order to incorporate Johnny Depp in the ride. Puh-leeze. Just made me ill.

I don't think that I am the only one who goes to Disneyland for the NOSTALGIA. If I wanted thrill rides, I'd go to Six Flags. If I wanted rides about movies, I'd go to Universal Studios. Disneyland was in an upper class all it's own. Sad to see it bow down to lower standards. Sad to see that they thought they needed to improvise another park as poorly done as California Adventures, also.

The Imagineers could have incorporated the FEW decent rides in CA, somewhere within the DL park, itself.
